Dear Friends, It is a pleasure to become a member of this community. It gives a confidence about our dream to control small arms and light weapons. I congratulate all of you who have contributed to this initiative. I am a member of the Civil Society Action Committee on SALW & Programme Manger of South Asia Small Arms Net Work Sri Lanka, who advocates effective control of SALW. Currently SasaNet is conducting programme to "Mainstream" SALW control in Sri Lanka. At the grassroots level, SasaNet is advocating pressure through actions such as peer pressure, to prohibition of using illicit weapons for any reason. SasaNet successfully voluntarily disarmed persons who used a homemade gun to know as Trap Guns for hunting which become tragedies to the community. At the Decision makers, level SasaNet is advocating to updating the current laws and practices to suit the challenges of the proliferation of SALW to the civilian’s hand considering international standards set by International Community. Considering the current turmoil in Sri Lanka, SasaNet is focusing what we can do to keeping the “SALW Control” message alive, with out dejection the of real isses. To long at the start Will keep in touch
