In the 2008 outcome document of the Third Biennial Meeting of States (BMS) on the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (PoA), States were encouraged to make use of their national reports as a means for communicating their assistance needs. This compilation contains national assistance proposals from Member States that indicated their requests in their 2010 national reports. UNODA followed up with these States by contacting their National Points of Contact and by offering guidance to elaborate their original requests.
The assistance proposals in this document have not been fully developed as mature projects, but are merely intended as a tool for the matching of needs and resources: to attract the attention of potential donor countries and capable implementing agencies/partners.
