Latin America and the Caribbean
From 1- 2 March 2010, 28 States of the Latin America and Caribbean region met in Lima, Peru, to discuss the implementation of the UN Programme of Action (www.poa-iss.org). The participants discussed the progress made at national and subregional levels as well as the preparations for the 4th Biennial Meeting of States (http://www.poa-iss.org/bms4/) which will be held in June 2010 in New York.

Asia and the Pacific
From 29 - 30 March 2010, 9 ASEAN Member States, plus Japan, met in Bali, Indonesia, to discuss the implementation of the UN Programme of Action (www.poa-iss.org). The participants discussed a number of topics relationg to small arms and light weapons - such as border controls and national legislation, as well as the upcoming 4th Biennial Meeting of States (http://www.poa-iss.org/bms4/) which will be held in June 2010 in New York.

Central Africa
From 24 - 25 April 2010, 10 States from Central Africa met in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, to discuss the implementation of the UN Programme of Action (www.poa-iss.org). The participants discussed a number of topics including information exchange, the link between security and development, the need for enhanced international cooperation and assistance (especially on stockpile management, marking tracing and record keeping and brokering issues) and the role played by civil society organizations in the region.
