Dear Sirs,
In continuation of my previous post, I am pleased to provide more info about some of our solutions:
Controlling active stockpiles/inventory with RFID Technology
Police and military armories can be secured with RIFD microchip technology (please contact me for photos), which is considered the most recognized, reliable and cost-effect technology for inventory control and is widely used commercially e.g. by Wal-Mart to control and trace their inventory, theft control in most retail stores and EZ Pass at highway toll stations etc. The microchips require no battery, maintenance or cleaning and the longevity matches the life of the asset in which it is installed.
The RFID microchips for weapons are to be used in a software and hardware infrastructure, consisting of e.g. software interface, back-up database, gate scanners, handheld scanners, camera and fingerprint control depending on security requirements. Once the software and hardware infrastructure (which constitutes the largest cost of a project) has been installed future “micro chipping” of weapons or assets only require a microchip and thus representing a marginal cost.
The RFID microchips are installed inside the weapon and will enable authorities to scan each weapon and retrieve the unique information stored in real time such as serial number, User ID, ownership, invoice, delivery and inventory history etc.
Each time a weapon is signed out of the police station or the military stockpile, it will get electronically registered with the above mentioned information and all history will be stored, traceable and easily audited (about 100 weapons can be scanned pr. second). Historical reports are easily generated and shared instantly with relevant units. Sign-out and Turn-in times are linked to persons ID and are significantly reduced and paperless. The user of the weapon will have responsibility for the weapon while it is in service, this will be monitored, and they can be held accountable for misuse during the period in which the weapon is in service.
Controlling deactive stockpiles (for destruction) with tamper evident security tags.
As stockpiles destined for destruction (e.g. Judicial Depots) represents a value constraint, a simpler solution is more appropriate and cost-effective.
The goal is to provide an economical, fast and consistent solution that copes the fact of probable destruction and is easily installed in massive depots. Furthermore, a solution that can manage the variability represented by different types of weapons and material (polymer, metal) effectively.
Tamper evident security tags are attached to each weapon to identify it (please contact me for photos). These tags contain an electronic seal that will break and become non-readable during inventory control if tampered with or removed allowing for consistent inventory checks.
To overcome magnetic environments a variation of tags is used: a tag that allows for easy placement and consistent read rate and distance in metallic targets.
Requirements
A turnkey solution consists of:
• Software
• Hardware
• Design and production of customized microchips if necessary.
• Installation of microchips, software and hardware. Adaption to organizations requirements, workflow and current systems/databases.
• Training of personal.
• Maintenance (in terms of new weapons added to active and deactive. stockpiles).
Costs
The cost of a turnkey solution as described above depends on solution type, weapon inventory size (active and deactive), required software features, security requirements, add-ons, and extent of adaptation to current systems and length of maintenance contract.
However, most systems will pay for itself fairly quickly due to lower inventory costs, manpower costs and reduced theft and governments have the opportunity to generate revenue from yearly weapon license renewal.

Humanitarian
Marking, tracing, record keeping and control of legally imported weapons will be significantly improved and more accountability put on the weapon user.
Controlling legally imported weapons – as part of an integrated approach, which also includes strengthening the legislation and institutions - is expected to minimize the source of uncontrolled legal weapons ending up in the wrong hands and will thus promote stability and security.
Financial
Cost-effective, transparent, reliable and safe asset management by providing faster turn-in/sign-out times, instant auditing, reporting, sharing and more. Saving on manpower (less paperwork, error tracking) and lost weapons.
